Overview of Industrial Flooring
Industrial flooring is a prefabricated floor made from polymer resin materials and fiber cloth or mesh as the main raw materials. It is primarily used in industrial manufacturing environments, featuring properties such as corrosion resistance, easy cleaning, dust-free, chemical resistance, and high wear resistance.
Construction Process of Industrial Flooring
- Base Inspection and Repair
- Measure the moisture content of the floor to ensure it is ≤4%.
- The compressive strength of the base floor should be ≥25MPa.
- Check the flatness, ensuring a 2m straight edge flatness of ≤2mm.
- Remove oil stains, isolating materials, and other contaminants from the floor. Ensure there is no sanding, cracking, hollowing, or damage.
- The air humidity should be between 35% and 75%, with a construction environment temperature of 10℃ to 30℃.
- Use a heavy-duty grinding machine to treat the floor. If secondary leveling is required, choose self-leveling materials that meet technical standards.
- Pre-laying of Industrial Flooring
- Place the industrial flooring at the construction site and let it acclimate for more than 48 hours.
- Determine the laying position of the floor, measure the data, and cut the floor accordingly, leaving an extra margin of ≥20mm.
- Mark the edges of the floor with a marker to prevent displacement during laying.
- Glue Application and Drying
- Mix the M919 two-component polyurethane floor glue according to the specified ratio, controlling the glue usage at about 400-450g/㎡.
- Apply the glue evenly with a notched trowel, ensuring that the amount of glue used is appropriate.
- Allow the glue to dry for 10-30 minutes until it becomes tacky before laying the floor. The specific drying time depends on the construction environment.
Detailed Construction Steps
- Material Cutting and Pre-laying
- Place the industrial flooring at the construction site and let it acclimate for more than 48 hours.
- According to the floor laying requirements and actual site conditions, determine the placement of the industrial flooring and measure the specific data for cutting.
- Use a marker to draw lines along the edge of the floor to prevent shifting during laying. The overlap between floors should be greater than 20mm.
- Applying Glue
- Lift one end of the pre-laid floor towards the other end, keeping it balanced to avoid skewing. Maintain a certain fold to prevent creasing.
- Mix the M919 two-component polyurethane adhesive as per the specified ratio and use a trowel to apply the glue evenly.
- Use an electric mixer to stir the glue for 2-3 minutes until it is thoroughly mixed, then apply it evenly on the floor surface to be laid.
- After applying the glue, let it dry for 10-30 minutes until it becomes tacky before laying the floor.
- Laying the Floor
- Push the lifted floor back along the drawn baseline, ensuring it is properly aligned without shifting.
- After laying the floor, use a cork block to press and expel air, ensuring full contact between the floor and adhesive.
- Use a 50kg or 75kg steel roller to roll over the floor, ensuring full adhesion to the base.
- Temporarily avoid rolling the 20cm overlap to facilitate seam cutting.
- Grooving
- Grooving should be done after the glue is fully cured. Use a grooving machine to groove along the seams, ensuring a depth of 2/3 of the floor thickness.
- For areas where the grooving machine cannot reach, use a manual grooving tool to achieve the same depth and width. Clean out any debris from the groove before welding.
- For cold welding, apply masking tape along the groove edges, fill with filler, and smooth the joint.
- For hot welding, use a welding gun at 350℃-450℃ and weld at a consistent speed.
- Handover
- Clean off any filler from the surface before it fully cures.
- After all industrial flooring is laid, clean the site and remove any waste materials.
- Inspect the entire floor, rectify any issues, and hand over the site upon passing inspection by relevant parties.
- Acceptance
- Ensure that the types, colors, specifications, and thicknesses of the industrial flooring meet design and contract requirements, with no color differences and consistent thickness.
- The flooring should have no cracks, wrinkles, or swirls and should be free of foreign objects and particles.
- Ensure firm adhesion between the layers, with no edge lifting, de-bonding, or excess glue.
- After laying, the surface should be clean, free of creases or scratches, with tight seams and smooth transitions. Edges should meet the walls neatly, with accurate corners.
- Welded seams should be smooth and clean, without discoloration, spots, weld beads, or blisters, and height differences should not exceed 0.6mm.
- Ensure firm bonding with the base floor, with no bubbling, hollowing, de-bonding, or edge lifting.
- Allowable deviations: surface flatness 3mm/2m, seam straightness 3mm, seam height difference 0.5mm.
